Jack, a rescued 13-year-old Off the Track Thoroughbred, lives in North Patchogue and is owned by Paul K. Siepmann, Esquire of Patchogue Village.

Siepmann's wife, Brooke Siepmann, said that the family rescued Jack in June 2010.

"He had very limited training and some anxiety issues that we needed to work through," Brooke said.

In the above photo, Paul Siepmann is using the pedestal for a method of training called Natural Horsemanship. Brooke said the method is a way of communicating and helps gain trust and respect from the horse.

"Giving Jack a task like standing on the pedestal takes communication and trust," Brooke said.

Paul and Jack haven't entered any competitions as of yet, and spend a lot of time trail riding.
