Annual tradition held on Veterans Day.

Supporters gathered with veterans at the Four Corners of Patchogue Village on Sunday morning to honor past and present military members.

In a speech to the crowd, Mayor Paul Pontieri thanked the veterans for their service to their country and their continued dedication to their community.

"To all of you that are veterans - first you were a citizen, then you were an enlisted man or woman, then you were a soldier and finally a veteran," Pontieri said. "But along that road to becoming a veteran, you all had one thing in common no matter the branch, you all had a strong desire to live and you took the form of having a readiness to die for the freedoms that all of us are enjoying today."
