Stand Up For The Homeless At SJC Friday

Sixth annual event will be at college's athletic center.

The sixth annual Stand Up for the Homeless event is taking place Friday at St. Joseph’s College’s Long Island Campus in Patchogue from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. It will be held at the college’s John A. Danzi Athletic Center.

The event allows individuals that attend access to free services and products from a number of non-profit and government agencies which include health and dental screenings, housing and shelter placement, employment opportunities, free haircuts, a clothing drive and public assistance counseling.

According to a release from St. Joseph’s College, this is the fifth year the event has been held at their venue and the event is sponsored by the office of the Suffolk County Executive.

The release also states that the Patchogue Lions Club is running a food drive, St. Vincent de Paul is doing a clothing drive and Long Island Cares and Island Harvest will be providing bags of food for attendees.
