Film: PINA, with special guest, dancer Melanie Lien Palm

ADDITIONAL INFO: Melanie Lien Palm, who danced in Pina Bausch’s company, will introduce and conduct a Q&A for all four screenings of Wim Wenders’ Academy-Award nominated documentary, PINA. Melanie danced with the company for 6 1/2 years during the '80's, and then choreographed and taught for various companies and universities throughout the United States, including Nancy Duncan's CoDanceCo.  She resides in Rapid City, South Dakota with her family and is an Artist-in-Schools, a BodyTalk Practitioner and a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist.  
ABOUT THE FILM: 2012 Academy Award nominee for Best Documentary, PINA is feature-length dance film with the ensemble of the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, featuring the unique and inspiring art of the great German choreographer, who died in the summer of 2009. Directory Wim Wenders  takes the audience on a sensual, visually stunning journey of discovery into a new dimension: straight onto the stage with the legendary Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch ensemble, he follows the dancers out of the theatre into the city and the surrounding areas of Wuppertal - the place, which for 35 years was the home and centre for Pina Bausch's creativity.
