Community Update

I was recently admitted to Brookhaven hospital in Patchogue with a DVT that turned into a PT, They diagnosed me correctly it seems, But unfortunately I would have to say this was by far the worst place to receive any kind of medical treatment you could possibly find !!! Being 46 and still having my wits about me I luckily escaped without them giving me a horrible infectious disease !!! I was admitted into the ER and ended up spending about 36hrs. there, Then I was moved to a temporary ICU that had 6 patients and a skeleton staff of 2 nurses and NO doctor !!! At-least I never had 1 visit me.... After this they move me to a room on the 4th Fl. Cardiac unit for a whole day, I finally see a Dr. after 4 days and a competent RN that fills me in on my prognoses only after seeing the managing nurse for the 4th floor twice..... Finally I feel I'm going to start getting the correct treatment, But to my surprise They end up moving me after 22hrs. on the 4th fl. and tell me I am moving to the 2nd. Fl. !!!! No one can answer me why but they are moving me anyways !!!! Now the real stupidity and malpractice kick into overdrive !!! They end up moving me to a shared room with a patient with an INFECTIOUS DISEASE !!!!! I didn't see the GIANT red warning label on the wall next to the door because the rolled me in backwards.... Next thing a LPN sticks his head in with a look of confusion on his face, He then asks me what i'm doing in the room !!!! ( Like I would know ) Then he asks me if I have an infectious disease, I say NO, He then asks the man in the other bed if he has one, The mans says NO.... He then leaves.. Meanwhile i'm listening to the man talk very loud on the phone and I can tell something is off, the man sounds like he might be mentally ill or have some issues. Then a RN comes in to take my vitals and asks me why they put me in this room, why in the world did they put you hear she asks !!!! Now i'm starting to get concerned !!! I ask her what is going on, she tells me to hold on 1 minute and she will find out exactly what the man has, and why in the world they put me in a room with a giant red warning label saying INFECTIOUS DISEASE... She flags down another RN in the hall and finds out the mental patient in the bed next to me has MRSA !!!! A highly infectious skin and blood disease !!!!!!! I start getting loud and telling them i'm not staying in the room and another LPN comes walking in and joins the 1st LPN and tells me to relax and calm down, I can only contract the disease if I play around with the mans open wounds !!!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME ??? I have the RN telling me it is very transferable and I need to get out of the room ASAP and I have 2 STUPID uneducated LPN's telling it's no problem.... Now this was a shared room with a shared bathroom, This skin infection is very easily transferred if the infected person touches thing and then they are touched by someone else !!! Luckily I had my laptop with me to look up the disease right away, The RN was 100% correct in saying I shouldn't be in the room, She was leaning over whispering in my ear ( you can't stay here ) as the 2 LPN's were telling me to relax everything was fine !!!!!! FINE....... You uneducated LPN's should honestly be fired, jailed and have the crap beaten out of you !!!! How dare you tell someone complete lies because your totally uneducated as to what your talking about or dealing with !!!!! In my opinion this DUMP they have the nerve to call a hospital should be closed down, Boarded up, and turned into something useful like housing for the poor or a dog kennel !!!! But by no stretch of the imagination should this DEATH clinic be called a hospital !!!!! I can think for myself and understand when something isn't right, What happens to older people that might be dwindling in their mental capacities ?? The people that can't think and protect themselves !!!! I'm sure far to many of them end up in the hospital MORGUE with out a doubt !!! I've talked to many people about this so called hospital and still haven't heard one person say one good word or share 1 positive experience with me !!!! And just about every EMT, Dr. or other person in the medical feild ask me why in the world I go there ?? Every Dr. ,nurse, and EMT that don't work there, and some who do say the place needs to be shut down and it is nothing more than a DEATH CLINIC !!!!!! I'm just very shocked that everyone in the medical industry knows this place is this bad yet it is still open and still killing people !!! Goes to show you haw much our state, and our government actually care about the health treatment we actually receive !!!!!! THEY DON'T........... It's all about nothing more than $$$$...... Good luck and my prayers are with anyone unfortunate enough to end up in this deplorable hell they call Brookhaven Memorial Hospital !!!! ( The Death Clinic )..............
