Local Restaurants Participating in Perfect Plates Program

Six Patchogue eateries will offer $5 meal program on a Monday for next five months.

A half dozen Patchogue restaurants are participating in the $5 Perfect Plates Program, a small portion initiative focused on supporting healthier eating, which is sponsored by Mather Hospital.

BrickHouse Brewery & Restaurant, Country Kitchen, Dragon Palace, Gallo Restaurant, Taveras Deli and the Village Idiot Pub will offer the smaller portion meals on the first Monday of each month, beginning February 4.

Last year nine Patchogue eateries participated in the program.

The goal is to educate the public on healthier meal sizes, according to a press release. The meal price does not include beverage, tax or gratuity and diners should call the restaurants for hours of the program’s availability as some may opt to offer the meals as dine-in only.

The Perfect Plates program partners with restaurants throughout Suffolk County to help increase the availability of smaller portion options on their menus. The program is funded by the New York State Department of Health - Healthy Heart Program and supported by the American Heart Association.
