Patchogue West Marine Staying Put

The West Marine located on West Sunrise Highway in Patchogue will not be closing, despite recent news that its West Babylon location will shutter on November 11.

According to a manager at the Patchogue location the corporation decided to invest in its new, larger fishing and marine supply store on Sunrise Highway in West Islip and close the West Babylon store. But no plans are in place to close other stores, as might have been the speculation when the company first announced the West Babylon closure earlier this week. 

The West Babylon site has entered into a moving sale, with some items in the storefront up to 30 percent off.

A recent Town of Babylon Planning Board meeting listed the closing store as a potential spot for a new Asian food restaurant. There was no word on whether those plans were accepted by the Board at press time.
