Mike, this is a great series of articles the Patch is doing on our towns of Medford and Patchogue, the "vintage"series. I have always wondered why there is not a book on the history of Medford. There is a well known publishing co. that does a series of books on towns across America. On LI alone, there are dozens of these books. Medford does Not have one. This is a shame. Maybe the Patch can get the ball rolling on this.

Thanks Joe. There actually is a book, "Medford, the Early Years" by Mary Gubitosi. Here is the link to the library's copy, I think its in their LI Reference section but not sure if it circulates: http://alpha2.suffolk.lib.ny.us/record=b4370691~S46

The Zeidler's actually own alot of property on RT 112 in Medford. They lease buildings such as Royal Car Care, Our Creations, Indy 3000 Fast Lube,East Coast Eddies, and I believe Zeidler's daughter owns Budget Reant A Car. I heard that they won the Irish lottery a long time ago but I don't know if that's true. They used to own North Shore Lincoln Mercury but that was sold.
