LIRR Service On Montauk Branch Returning To Normal

Regular service west of Speonk expected to resume Wednesday.

The Long Island Rail Road's Montauk Branch will have limited service Tuesday evening to Speonk and regular service is expected to resume on Wednesday morning, an LIRR spokesperson told Patch. The branch includes Patchogue, Sayville, Hampton Bays, Southampton and East Hampton.

"We have half-hourly departures from Penn Station and Jamaica for the Babylon branch, and then there is limited LIRR train service between Babylon and Speonk," Sam Zambuto, the LIRR spokesperson said.

There will be no published times for service between Babylon to Speonk Tuesday night Zambuto said, and there will be no service east of Speonk.

For Wednesday morning, the regular Montauk branch schedule will be in place with buses replacing trains east of Speonk.

Also, the Ronkonkoma branch will offer hourly departures from Penn Station and Jamaica for the Tuesday evening rush.
