A collection of inspiration and experiences.
By allowing our creative nature to grow, we get to know ourselves personally. We start to understand the enormous capacity of love, acceptance, strength and individuality we possess. These paintings are personal works that have helped to transcend traditional ideas, patterns, relationships, the transformation into womanhood; emergence of the creative self and self acceptance are at the core of her most current works. The masks symbolize varying forms of our personality, who we want to be, who we are at different times in our life and how we hide from our true nature even when we know duality exists. These works reflect awareness of self acceptance and merging the creative side to become whole; not afraid to be different.
In an effort to document the incredible life changing influences in Sheauwei's life - art, dance & yoga - her unique color schemes vibrate emotional connection with content; forming meaningful interpretations and imagination.
All work is acrylic based with mixed media and appliques.
About the Artist
Sheauwei "Shews" Pidd is an artist and entertainer. She grew up with a pencil and paintbrush in hand. An SVA graduate, most works are in Acrylics, but include pencil/pen work and mixing mediums. She explores different forms of art, building a repertoire that includes freelance illustration, commissioned works, graphic arts, live painting and hula hoop/dancing/fire performances. My art has an eclectic style, drawing from early years of cartoon, pop and graffiti influences merging the psychedelic and spiritual inspirations.
