Shantey Hill Named New Athletic Director at St. Joseph’s College’s Long Island Campus

Patchogue, N.Y. – St. Joseph’s College (SJC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Shantey Hill as the new director of intercollegiate athletics and the chairperson for the physical education department on the College’s Long Island Campus effective immediately. Prior to coming to SJC, Ms. Hill worked at Long Island University (LIU)-Post for more than a decade, including seven years as their senior associate director of athletics/senior woman administrator and four years as director of sports medicine and head athletic trainer.

Ms. Hill succeeds Don Lizak, who has retired after 19 years of service to SJC, during which time he oversaw its transition into the NCAA’s Division III in 1997 and the growth of the Golden Eagles program into 19 varsity teams at the end of his tenure.

“I am humbled, yet excited to begin building upon the traditions that Don Lizak and the athletic department students and staff, both past and present, have worked tirelessly to create,” said Ms. Hill. “I look forward to servicing and working with the entire Golden Eagle campus community including alumni, family and friends as we continue to sculpt strong, competitive athletic programs while remaining dedicated to developing diverse, educated and well-rounded leaders.”
