Dog Rescued From N. Patchogue House Fire

No injuries were sustained during the fire on Edwin Avenue.

A dog was rescued but no one was injured when a fire ripped through a North Patchogue home Thursday afternoon.

Tom Volpe, chief of the North Patchogue Fire Department, said the department was called to the Edwin Avenue home at 3:15 p.m. and arrived with the for mutual aid. Medford Fire Department remained on standby.

None of the home's occupants were inside at the time of the fire aside from the rescued dog, Volpe said.

The home suffered extensive damages throughout, with flames shooting through the roof.

The fire was stabilized by the departments around 3:40 p.m., Volpe said.
