Fire Commissioner Elections Today

Contested races in Gordon Heights and Medford.

Residents across Long Island head to the polls Tuesday to elect fire commissioners in their respective first districts. 

The unpaid commissioners control and set the budgets for their districts. 

Of the four fire districts in the Pat-Med area, two of them have competitive commissioner races this year.

Medford 

Incumbent Richard Piquette faces challenger Michael Cicero. Voting is at the firehouse located at 171 Oregon Avenue from 3-9 p.m.

Gordon Heights

Incumbent James Kelly faces challengers James Freeman and Joyce Bourne. Polls are open at the firehouse located at 23 Hawkins Avenue from 3-9 p.m. 

North Patchogue

John Kirshey is running unopposed for one open seat. Polls are open at the firehouse located at 33 Davidson Avenue from 3-9 p.m.

Patchogue

Incumbent Paul Felice is unopposed. Polls are open at the firehouse located at 15 Jennings Avenue from 2-9 p.m.
