Jeep Crashes Through Patchogue Lake Fence [Update]

Driver did not sustain major injuries, at precinct said officer on scene.

A 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee crashed through the Patchogue Lake fence on Lake Avenue across from in Patchogue Wednesday night.

According to a police officer on scene, the driver, Michael Leo, is fine and was taken to the in Patchogue. No passengers were in the vehicle.

The call for the accident was received at 7:13 p.m.

Police say that Leo was determined as being under the influence of alchohol, and was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated as a first offense at 7:40 p.m.

Patchogue Village Department of Public Works arrived on scene to assist around 8:15 p.m. Onlookers said local fire departments also came to the scene earlier on.
