UPDATED: Patchogue Man Killed in Pedestrian Crash on West Avenue

Police say the 36-year-old victim was standing in the road when he was struck by a car Friday night.

A Patchogue man was killed Friday night when he was struck by a car on West Avenue in Patchogue, Suffolk County Police said.

According to police, Victor Morocho, 35, was hit by a 2010 Hyundai driven by Cristina Iorizzo, 18, of Ronkonkoma, at 9:18 p.m. while he was standing in a southbound lane of West Avenue near Main Street.

Morocho was transported to in East Patchogue where he was pronounced dead.

No charges were filed against Iorizzo, police said.

Police are looking for the driver of a second vehicle who was reported to have been at the scene at the time of the accident but left the area. The crash remains under investigation and detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
