Medford Man Injured in West Babylon Scaffolding Collapse

Masonry company's scaffolding collapses and drops man 25 feet the ground.

A scaffolding collapse in West Babylon sent a Medford man to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries Thursday morning.

According to the Suffolk County Police Department, Alberto Perez, 33, of Medford, was erecting scaffolding at about 8:24 a.m. for A-Plus Masonry at the location of Strahl & Pitsch Waxes at 230 Great Neck Road in West Babylon when a board he was standing on flipped.  Perez fell approximately 25 feet from the scaffolding to the ground.

Perez was airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center for broken bones and bruises. The injures were considered non-life-threatening.

Police say the accident does not seem criminal at this time.
