Police: Patchogue Couple Arrested on Drug Charges After Traffic Stop

Two Patchogue residents charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, police say.

A Patchogue woman was arrested Saturday after driving on the Southern State Parkway in the North Bellmore area with a suspended license and with drugs in her vehicle, New York State Police said.

Her husband, a passenger in the car, was also arrested, police said.

According to police, troopers from State Police Farmingdale Barracks were patrolling the highway shortly before noon Saturday with a license plate reader when a red Nissan Armada alerted the reader to a suspended registration.
