Police: Patchogue Man Killed in Crash Into Tree
Kelly Charles, 49, dies in Sunday night crash on Waverly Avenue.
A Patchogue man was killed Sunday night in a single-car crash on Waverly Avenue, police said.
According to police, Kelly Charles, 49, was driving a 2013 Nissan Altima southbound on Waverly Avenue near West 2nd Street in Patchogue at 10:18 p.m. when his vehicle veered off the road and hit a tree.

Charles was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue where he was pronounced dead.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Police are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
