Police: Patchogue Woman Involved In Fatal Shirley Crash

Sophan Korur, of Shirley, died at Brookhaven Hospital Thursday evening, police said.

A Patchogue woman was involved in a car crash that killed a Shirley man Thursday night, said Suffolk County Police.

Sophan Korur, 53 of Shirley, was crossing the William Floyd Parkway south of Montauk Highway when he was struck by a southbound 2009 Toyota Camry driven by Angela Gonzalez, 26 of Patchogue, around 7:17 p.m. said police.

Korur was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue where he died a short time later, police said.

Gonzalez was not injured in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing. Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed it to contact Seventh Squad detectives at 631-852-8752.
