Police Report: Criminal Possession and Burglary

Arrests in Patchogue and Medford from Jan. 28-29.

The following information is taken from the Suffolk County Police Department's crime blotter. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed below. A criminal charge is only an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Patchogue

Mark Lovece, of Bayport, was arrested in Patchogue and charged with criminal possession of controlled substance in the seventh degree on Jan. 28.

John Haffner was arrested in Patchogue and charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree with a previous conviction on record on Jan. 28.

Jianying Chen, of Flushing, was arrested in Patchogue and charged with unauthorized practice of profession on Jan. 29.

Xuan Ye, of Flushing, was arrested in Patchogue and charged with unauthorized practice of profession on Jan. 29.

Eric Anaya was arrested in Patchogue and charged with three counts of burglary in the third degree involving illegal entry with intent on Jan. 29.

Kenneth Sweeney, of Holbrook, was arrested in Patchogue and charged with driving while intoxicated as a first offense on Jan. 29.

Michael Koller, of Medford, was arrested in Patchogue and charged with driving while intoxicated as a first offense on Jan. 29.

North Patchogue

John Haffner was arrested in North Patchogue and charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree involving a loaded firearm on Jan. 28.

Medford

Edgar Perez, of Shirley, was arrested in Medford and charged with rape in the first degree involving forcible compulsion on Jan. 29.
