Police Seeking Man Who Used Stolen Credit Card

Police are asking for the public’s help to identify and locate a man who used a stolen credit card to buy merchandise at stores in Patchogue and Medford in January.  

A wallet containing cash, identification and credit cards was stolen from a locker at YMCA, located at 155 Buckley Road in Holtsville on Jan. 15 at 10 a.m., police said.

A man, who was seen at the gym prior to the discovery of the theft, used one of the victim’s credit cards at Best Buy in Patchogue and Just Wheels and Target in Medford.  Some of the merchandise he purchased included assorted motorcycle riding gear, police said.

The man was described as white, in his late 20s to early 30s, approximately 200 pounds with a medium build. He had a mustache, goatee and was unshaven. One store employee said the suspect had a southern accent. The suspect may be driving a 2008 to 2010 dark-colored Infinity QX 56 with white New York State plates.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000.00 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
