Brookhaven To Lift State Of Emergency

Emergency shutdown of roadways lifted beginning at 5 p.m.

At 5 p.m., the Town of Brookhaven Supervisor Ed Romaine will lift its declared state of emergency for residents currently digging out from Hercules.

The declaration, imposed yesterday at 6 p.m. barred non-emergency vehicles from traveling on the roadways and for residents to pull their vehicles into driveways for plowing.

In a release from the town, officials urged residents to continue reporting snow-related issues by calling 451-TOWN and 911 for police, fire and ambulance emergencies. Power outages or downed wires can still be reported by calling PSEG at (800) 436-7734 or by reporting online at www.psegliny.com
