Krieger said 3,200 people total were brought to the Village and stopped into local businesses. Next weekend is Mickey B's at the theatre, and is sold out. This brings another 1,200 people to the Village, Krieger said. Krieger also said that at least one-third of the audience typically says they eat or get drinks on Main Street before or after shows.

7:48 p.m. Krieger requested approval for several future events including the 2011 Alive After Five festivals and St. Liberata. Board granted approval to all.

7:56 p.m. Deputy Mayor Stephen McGiff proposed a motion to improve safety at the Copper Beach Village. Also proposed and approved was a motion to reduce the rank of Sergeant Robert Weber to Public Safety Officer because of personal commitments, and a motion to hire three new part time housing inspectors at $14/hour.

7:59 p.m. Trustee Lori Devlin begins her Parks and Recreation report. Devlin said that village resident Josephine Miller approached her to expand the current Friday farmer’s market to a larger concept and have it on Saturday. Devlin would like to attract vendors and have it on a Saturday at the west end of the Long Island Rail Road parking lot. Devlin is going to meet with Miller Wednesday to continue to develop the idea for a future motion. One idea proposed would be to charge each vendor for a spot and the money raised would go towards code enforcement and possibly also the beautification fund.

Devlin requested and had approved motions to have the 12th annual Bunny Run at Father Tortora Park on April 23 at 12 p.m., for the South Country School District to use the Rider Avenue tennis courts from March 7-June 2 on Mondays to Fridays from 2:30 p.m.-5 p.m., and for the Patchogue-Medford School District to use the Rider Avenue baseball complex from March 28-June 3 Mondays to Fridays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

8:05 p.m. Trustee Joseph Keyes is giving the CDA report. At the recent CDA meeting, and idea to have students paint a mural at the Shorefront Park bandshell was discussed.

8:10 p.m. Keyes is requesting and had approved a motion for a maintenance permit to perform a maintenance dredging and clearing at Shorefront Park/Mascot Dock area at a cost not to exceed $20,000, to hire an engineering company to redesign Oak Street and one other village parking lot for $750. Discussed was that additional spaces would not be able to be created at the Terry Street lot without major reconstruction.

8:15 p.m. Keyes requested and had approved a motion to go out to bid for the purchase of a Trackless MT-6 multi-use vehicle. The vehicle would assist in situations such as heavy snow.

8:17 p.m. Public comment begins. Joseph Yannetta would like to start a recycling project in the apartment building where he serves as the landlord. Yannetta would like assistance from the Village.

8:26 p.m. A resident is asking about the odor near the Blue Point Brewery. Pontieri said that the fermentation and brewing process is causing the odor. The Village is working with the brewery to bring this odor down to acceptable levels, said Pontieri. The mayor said this may or may not happen, and if it is unable to happen then the brewery may have to move.

8:37 p.m. Mark Fauci raised concerns over bringing rental housing to the Four Corners area. Fauci said he and several others are worried that the housing would become Section 8. Pontieri said that this would be an assumption and is not fact. Devlin said that the Long Island Housing Partnership would be overseeing half the one-bedroom and studio apartments in perpetuity, which would make them impossible to become Section 8. A debate regarding this was ongoing.

8:49 p.m. Meeting adjourned.

Update 2/15 9:32 a.m.: The vote on TRITEC's New Village proposal is rescheduled to March 10, not March 8 as previously reported.
