Mascot Dock Will Re-Open Memorial Day Weekend

Dock will be open for fishing and relaxing, full restoration is still to come.

Those who have missed Mascot Dock since it was wrecked from Hurricane Sandy last Fall will be able to re-visit the Patchogue landmark this Memorial Day weekend.

Village trustee Joseph Keyes told Patch Tuesday in an email that Mascot Dock will be open for the holiday weekend, just not to its original capacity.

"While full and complete restoration will take some time, we (Department of Public Works) have worked hard to make the dock serviceable for fishing and relaxing this summer, and have succeeded in meeting our self-imposed Memorial Day weekend goal," Keyes said.

Keyes mentioned this was a goal at the May 13 Patchogue Village Board of Trustees meeting at Patchogue Village Hall. Mascot Dock is located at the southern-most end of South Ocean Avenue in Patchogue Village.
