Demolition of the Nesenger building in East Patchogue recently began earlier in July, and a ceremony took place on July 13 at the site.
According to the July 19 issue of , the Nesenger was sealed in a $1,013,000 town deal via Open Space funds with the owners last October.
Town officials say they plan on turning the property into a park space, reports Newsday.
