Like several other nearby communities preparing for Hurricane Sandy, Patchogue Village is getting their equipment ready just in case they need it.
Patchogue Village trustee Joseph Keyes told Patch Friday that the Village has re-fueled their vehicles, prepared generators for the sewer plant and having a private emergency preparation meeting on Sunday morning with the Patchogue Fire Department, Patchogue Village Mayor Paul Pontieri and other local officials.
"We're following suit and everyone is on the edge of their seat," Keyes said. "We're hoping we're preparing for nothing."
The Village held a similar meeting before Hurricane Irene in 2011.
While the Village is waiting for this Sunday to see what the weather predictions look like, Keyes said residents should make normal preparations for a hurricane.
