Did you miss the chance to see the USS Michael Murphy while it was open to the public at Pier 88 in Manhattan?
The Navy recently took Patch on a tour of the inside of the newly commissioned warship into areas that honor Lt. Michael Murphy's memory, the cafeteria, the bridge and up and down extremely narrow stairwell ladders.
Lt. Michael Murphy, of Patchogue, was a part of a four-member SEAL team, and was shot on June 29, 2005 while on duty. Murphy has been posthumously honored with the ship, numerous awards, a film and even a workout named after him.
