Hurricane Sandy Blows Roof Off Four Corners Walkway

Top of scaffolding fell next to the walkway Monday afternoon.

The roof of the recently constructed walkway at the Four Corners intersection of North Ocean Avenue and Main Street in Patchogue Village was blown off by Hurricane Sandy around 2 p.m. Monday.

Patchogue Village Mayor Paul Pontieri told Patch that the roof fell right next to the scaffolding.

The Department of Public Works first responded to it, and then Tritec Real Estate Company sent employees to take care of it.

The sidewalk was placed adjacent to the construction ongoing at the former location of Swezey's for the New Village project. Tritec is the company working on its construction.
