Notice to all: there are some rough spots at the beginning of this video brought to the public by the Citizens Campaign for Open Village Government. Please remember that this filming project is being done by ordinary citizens and we are learning as we go along. Low volume patch can be adjusted for by simply raising the volume on your computer, some back ground noise does appear in the first few mintues of the video but abates as the video progresses. In any case the video does present a good and audible history of the meeting. The meeting progresses from the Treasurer's report, a permit re-application, various motions offered by the Mayor on a variety of subjects, other resolutions offered by Board members one by one, and finally the public portion of the meeting where residents are permited to address the Board about a variety of subjects. In no particular order addressed at this meeting: quality of life issues in the village and increased efforts by the village government and court to reduce issues, the Mayor's new car, labor issues at New Village, a discussion about the public's right to speak at Board meetings now and in the future, pros and cons of increased growth of the village, further steps to move the Carnegie Library into the hands of the library system and other issues as well. Look for my blog in the future that will go into some more depth about all the above. For now the video offers an unedited view of the Board at work please take a look.

Board meeting tape correction: we have discovered a gap in the tape. The tape is complete for its coverage of all government officials at the last Board meeting up to one quarter of the pubic portion. However due to human error, the wrong button was hit by our volunteer photographer for the night, after most of my comments during the public portion of the meeting. The camera shut off. Missing from the tape is the complete answer by Trustee Ferb to a question about future public portion sections of the Board meetings (he promised that they would continue). Missing as well Jo Miller's discussion with the Mayor and Deputy Mayor Krieger about how to manage the negative effects of growth in the village. Missing is Greg Power's questioning of the Mayor about labor issues at New Village and the Mayor's response. Missing is Laureen Predergast's questioning about road improvement priorities in the village and answers to her from Trustee Keyes and the Mayor about how priorities for the almost 750,000 dollars in road improvements to come would be spent. This is a volunteer effort and the members of the Campaign for Open Village Government are learning along the way. All I can do at this point is say we will learn from our mistakes and do better as we go along.
