Updated: Village Evacuation Shuttles Ending at 2 PM

Shuttle will leave from Patchogue Village Hall and take evacuees to Sachem East High School

Update 1:29 p.m.: The last shuttle out to Sachem East High School will be at 2 p.m. As of 1 p.m., Village Clerk Patti Seal told Patch that no residents have used the shuttle as of yet to evacuate.

Those living in a mandatory evacuation area of Patchogue Village have the option of taking a shuttle bus leaving from Patchogue Village Hall, 14 Baker St., to Sachem East High School, 177 Granny Road in Farmingville, starting at 9 a.m. Monday.

Additionally, an updated map outlining the recommended evacuation zone was posted to the Patchogue Village Facebook Page, and is in the gallery section of this post.

As previously reported, the mandatory evacuation order is for residents living south of Campbell, Gilbert and Park Streets as well as those living on the west side of West Avenue.

"Low lying areas normally subject to moderate flooding could see severe and prolonged flooding during this time period," a release from the Village states.

Residents issued a mandatory evacuation order are not being physically forced from their homes, but emergency services cannot guarantee access for those who choose not to evacuate.

Cars can be left at any Village municipal lot, such as at Patchogue Village Hall, the Patchogue Long Island Rail Road station and parking lots north of that.

Residents can call Patchogue Fire Headquarters at 631-475-1225 for further information on bus times.
