Mr Ferb, why are you picking on houseboat owners? Why dont you go after the absentee landlords that donated so generously to TEAM PONTIERI? Way to expose the Village Taxpayer to another lawsuit that will cost us money!

another example of this corrupt village! Why is 380 Bay still vacant? Every meeting they give another phony date when it will open, last was may 1st which is not gonna happen... The joke is on all us residents... This is Paul's playground and he will bully anybody that gets in his way...

What is going on with "FLo's on the Go"? Why don't we have a Village Code on food trucks? I Guess someone is really pushing this through. We don't want this on Lake St.

For other reasons than Flo's on the Go I was at the Zoning Board just a few weeks ago when this subject came up. The Board took the matter under consideration after many residents argued that since the code was silent on food trucks that the Village Board of Trustees should create a code section that would apply, and then the Zoning Board should decide on the application. I have not heard that the Zoning Board has ruled or asked for direction from the Board of Trustees as of yet. If you like you could come to tonight's meeting and ask directly during the public portion if there has been any progress.

FEDUPON BAY - could you explain what is the issue with houseboat owners. i dont know anything about it and was curious. thanks for any info.

Online the agenda for tonight's meeting of the Board of Trustees has been posted on the village web site. Trustee Ferb will be introducing a resolution to authorize a public hearing at a future date on the subject of prohibiting houseboats on the Patchogue River. That's the language used on the website. There are no other details printed. Usually, when asking for a public hearing a trustee will provide some back ground information about the proposal. So there should be some more details provided tonight. As per usual village policy no vote on whatever is being proposed will occur until after there has been a public hearing and I imagine that this issue will stir some public reaction before and during the public hearing. A vote could be held on the same date as the public hearing, or if the Board wants more time it could adjourn the actual vote on whatever proposed changes to another date. That is all I know myself.

I have another question regarding the "feduponbay" comment. What is "380 Bay"?
John Bogack April 23, 2012 at 10:51 PM
Lee I believe 380 Bay refers to the former Winona boarding house. It was a property purchased by the village. Before my time in Patchogue Village I understand it was considered a blighted property. Since the village bought it out right it has been undergoing renovation for some time now. I think it turned out that the building has needed quite a lot of renovation and yes there have been delays getting it open because of continuing issues that have to be resolved before the building is safe for public use. Eventually there is going to be a relocation of some village services such as code enforcement to that building. It is also going to be used for various recreational purposes too. I believe Trustee Hilton has been heading up the renovation effort. If you have more questions you can email him from the village website.

just wait till it opens, if ever, been hearing their excuses since I moved here, Bay ave is filled with skels wandering around traveling up and down the block to get their beer, cigs and drugs on our tax dollar. Constant police activity especially at 311, robberies, yelling and screaming at 2am up and down the block. Houses across from 380 are rental section 8 absentee landlord crap.

I don't know what Ferbs issues are with houseboat owners, guess he needs to pick on somebody, it seems live aboard houseboats are frowned upon around long island. They do not like free spirits, free thinking people...

Quick update from Village meeting regarding houseboats: Ferb said that Village code currently has a defective definition of houseboat and needs to re-define it. Houseboats were previously banned in 1983 and 1987 due in part to pollution dumped by them during that time period. Pontieri said this is not about houseboats that are purchased for living in.
Patchogue Snoop April 24, 2012 at 10:49 AM
Federal law has taken care of the dumping issue, something else is going on with this. But the music will blare this summer and destroy our quality of life along the river this year! At least a liveabord is a village resident not these purveyors of booze who take and destroy in Patchogue and live somewhere else.
Born&Raised April 25, 2012 at 01:07 PM
@feduponbay Man you are such a blowhard!!! Houses across 380 are not even Village property so oh well. and what is the rush for you to get 380 bay open. its only going to be used for employees. it has no impact on you.
feduponbay April 25, 2012 at 01:22 PM
born&raised, what's the difference if its not the village across the street from 380, its still Patchogue. 400 Bay which is 2 doors down is a boarding house on the village side. NOt just for employees, supposedly the senior program is going to be run out of there among other programs.
feduponbay April 25, 2012 at 01:35 PM
Does the sewage treatment plant dump the "treated sewage" into the Patchogue River? If so does anybody realize the inlets are 20 miles east and west and this crap is stagnate in the river and bay? At least Bergen Point dumps it 2 miles offshore. The village is worried about a few houseboats?
feduponbay April 28, 2012 at 11:16 PM
What exactly is the law on dumping? Would you swim in the river? Would you eat clams from the flats outside the river?
feduponbay April 29, 2012 at 11:00 PM
Taken from the Village website. The Recreation office has relocated to: 380 Bay Avenue Patchogue, New York 11772 Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 4:30pm When did this happen?
