Patchogue Home Depot, Southwest Air Plants Flowers at Sachem School

Southwest Airlines, Home Depot team up to donate flowers for elementary school's grounds.

Students at Sachem's Grundy Avenue Elementary School in Holbrook can stop and smell the flowers now that they've been planted around the school courtesy of the Patchogue Home Depot and Southwest Airlines.

The project was spearheaded by Southwest, which has a terminal at Long Island MacArthur Airport, as part of its volunteerism program. According to a release, the airline reached out to Principal Patty Trombetta for some ideas to help enhance the school community and Trombetta suggested the flower bed spruce-up in the front of the building.

Southwest employees then partnered with the Patchogue Home Depot on the effort.
