PMHS Robotics Win Chesapeake Regional

FIRST Robotics Team 329 heading to Nationals.

Patchogue-Medford High School's FIRST Robotics Team 329 won the Chesapeake Regional this weekend at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, MD.

Danielle Oldis, advisor to the team, told Patch that they will now be heading to the national competition on April 24-28 to compete against 400 teams from around the world for top honors. According to the US FIRST website, nationals will be at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, MO.

"We were also awarded the Motorola Quality Award which celebrates machine robustness in concept and fabrication," Oldis said.

This year's robotics game was titled "Ultimate Ascent" and according to the FIRST Robotics Competition website is played by two competing alliances on a flat, 27 x 54 foot field.
