Special guest speaker Dr. Harold A. Fernandez, Deputy Chief Cardiothoracic Surgery Division, Stony Brook Medicine welcomed all students who attended. He shared his life story beginning with arriving in the United States at the age of 13 as an undocumented immigrant from Columbia and within ten years received his BS in Molecular Biology from Princeton University. He then furthered his education receiving his Medical Degree from Harvard Medical School, followed by his residency at NYU Medical Center.

He continues to be an inspiration to students and donated his biography, "Undocumented" to the library at Patchogue-Medford High School for all our students to be able to borrow and read.
