KIDFIT at Finest Fitness

Finest Fitness of Patchogue is proud to announce our next 8 week KIDFIT program, starting May 13th. KIDFIT is an age appropriate program, with a variety of classes from: mommy and me, CHILDFIT ages 3-5, CHILDFIT ages 5-8, KIDSFIT ages 8-12 and TEENFIT! Classes are available in the mornings, all hours of the afternoon, evenings and the weekends. This program is aimed at encouraging exercise and fitness while instilling values that are needed for kids to achieve success in life. Below is some information explaining some of many magical benefits of kids exercise and fitness. Kids who are active will have: • Greater self confidence • Better outlook on life • stronger muscles and bones • a leaner body because exercise helps control body fat • a decreased risk of developing type 2 diabetes • lower blood pressure and blood cholesterol levels Besides enjoying the health benefits of regular exercise, kids who are physically fit sleep better and are better able to handle physical and emotional challenges. Exercise helps kids feel great about themselves and can positively affect every area of life from school, to home, to sports. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention offers the following recommendations for children’s ages 6-17: Aerobic activity should make up most of your child's 60 or more minutes of physical activity each day. This can include either moderate-intensity aerobic activity, such as brisk walking, or vigorous-intensity activity, such as running. Be sure to include vigorous-intensity aerobic activity on at least 3 days per week. Muscle strengthening activities, such as gymnastics or push-ups, should be done at least 3 days per week as part of your child's 60 or more minutes. Bone strengthening activities, such as jumping rope or running, are recommended at least 3 days per week as part of your child's 60 or more minutes. We at Finest Fitness began our fitness and exercise children, kids and teen program in early March. The program has proven to be life changing! The instructors absolutely adore the kids involved and the kids can’t wait for the next class to come. The major goal of the program was to teach kids of all ages that exercise is fun. Well, the smiles on the kids’ faces after each and every class say it all. The feedback from the parents is wonderful. KIDFIT is an awesome program. Let’s teach our Kids to LIVEFIT!
