Civics Lesson? Integrity?

Residents First in action

I was sitting at the Patchogue 2012 HQ on Saturday afternoon after another day of walking the Village when one of our volunteers, Bob Fonti, returned.

He said, “You’ll never believe what happened! We were down on South Ocean Ave near Hulse Court when we saw a woman and a teenager picking up 2012 literature from the doors that we had just left it at.”

Bob was in his car and asked the woman if she was picking up Patchogue 2012 literature. She leaned in towards Bob’s car window and said that she was and that she was doing it for her sister-in-law.

Bob snapped her picture with his smart phone and said that we had not removed their literature. After her picture was taken, she said she would put it back, and her teenage companion said, “What are they going to do with the picture, Mommy?”

Your barking dog complaint in North Patchogue is handled by Public Safety, Town of Broohaven. CallRead More them at 451-6161 and they will take action. The first time the owners will be warned, the next time they will receive a summons.

Don't know what the Town ordnance is, but if you live within the Village of Patchogue, I believeRead More there is a "15 minute rule" in the code. Basically, if the dog is barking for more than 15 continuous minutes, it's a violation subject to a fine. Call public safety at 475-1225. Keep in mind it's probably not their first priority (unless the dog has a bad attitude, and is carrying a weapon), but they will be responsive, eventually.
