Flood Watch Issued For Patchogue

After a weekend of warm summer sun that allowed Patchogue to dry out from Friday’s soaking rains brought by the remnants of Tropical Storm Andrea, the National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for the area through Tuesday morning.

According to a weather service advisory, a warm front moving through the area will bring moderate to heavy rains from Monday afternoon through Monday night. Rainfall totals could be a much as two inches.

A flood watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts, the National Weather Service said. Residents living in flood-prone areas should be prepared to take action if flooding develops.
