Woman Charged For Reckless Driving Mugshot Released

Pistolese's charge results from a Saturday afternoon car accident at Horseblock Road and Montauk Highway that killed her 71-year-old mother from E. Patchogue, police said.

Suffolk County Police have released the mugshot of Jessica Pistolese, 38 of Mastic, who police say is charged for reckless driving after a Saturday afternoon car accident at Horseblock Road and Montauk Highway in Brookhaven Hamlet in which her mother was killed.

As previously reported by police, Judith Rivera, 71 of East Patchogue, was sitting in the front passenger seat of her daughter's car traveling westbound on Montauk Highway when it struck a vehicle attempting to make a left onto Montauk Highway from Horseblock Road. Rivera was pronounced dead by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

Both Pistolese and the driver in the other car, Aide Marichal, 51 of Mastic, were taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police say Pistolese was charged with reckless driving, and was released on bail. Pistolese was given a desk appearance ticket and is scheduled to be arraigned on Nov. 4.

Police say the investigation is continuing through the detectives at the Vehicular Crimes Unit.
